Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do you have horseback riding year round?
A: We offer horseback riding from mid May through October. During the
late fall and winter months, we send our horses down to lower elevations
and warmer pastures, so they can rest up and be ready for the next season!
Rates are $25 per person for ages 6 and up.
Q: Can I bring my pet?
A: Unfortunately, we do not allow pets of any kind at the ranch. There
are no exceptions. We care about the safely of your pets!
Q: What about tipping?
A: Our rates do not include any gratuities. Our staff works hard to earn
your appreciation and your tips!
Q. How can I connect my laptop to the Internet? What will my connection
speed be?
A. Wireless Internet cards can be rented for $9.95 daily and they will
allow you to connect to the Internet fromthe main lodge, conference
center and certain other locations. The average connection speed is around
50-60 kbps.
Q. Can I bring my favorite alcoholic beverage to dinner? A. Because we
have a Colorado liquor license, alcohol must be purchased directly from
the ranch. You may have your own alcohol in your room or cabin, but it
cannot be brought into any public place on the ranch. You are welcome
to order beer, wine, or liquor from our bar and take it to the guest lounge,
sun room, fishing pond, or anywhere on the ranch grounds. Please ask for
a plastic glass if you are going to the swimming pool or hot tub.
Q. What
wild animals are around here?
A. We have seen elk, mule deer, big horn sheep, black bear, moose, bobcats,
mountain lions, and marmots near the ranch. If you would like, we have
booklets from the Division of Wildlife explaining about living with wildlife
and their habits.
Q. What kind of fish are in the pond?
A. We stock the pond several times a year with rainbow trout and brown
trout.
Q. Can I drive my car up to the chapel?
A. Because the road up to the chapel is rocky and steep, we allow only
ranch vehicles to drive to and from the chapel. You are welcome to walk
up there (15 minute short hike), or if a staff member is available, they
can drive you up there. As long as there is no other activity going on
in the chapel, you are welcome to enjoy it!
Q. I am allergic to several different foods. Will this be a problem while
I'm at the ranch?
A. Our excellent kitchen staff always takes special dietary needs into
consideration. If you have specific allergies or needs, please let us
know in advance and we'll be happy to accommodate you.
Q. I'm not a horseback rider. Will there be other activities for me to
participate in?
A. We offer many activities for the non-rider! During our dude-ranch season,
we have several day trips designed for those who want to do some sightseeing
(Estes Park, Blackhawk/Central City, Rocky Mountain National Park, 4x4
Suburban trips, etc.). We also have an extensive hiking program, fishing
clinics, and much more! No one is ever bored in the summer at Peaceful
Valley Ranch!
